Seattle

After I knew Liz and Don were coming to visit, I asked them if there was anything they'd like to see when they came and the only thing they requested was to go to Seattle.  Easily done.  So on Monday, after the boys went to school (I let Emmy take the day off), we all headed up to Seattle.  Stevie even got to come on this outing since he had the day off work.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day with the sunshine streaming down and a little crispness in the air.  We started at Pikes Place market and this time I got to see the first Starbucks!  In fact we went in and had a coffee - pumpkin spice latte from the original Starbucks.  Yum!  Emmy even had her first Starbucks (don't worry, it's just chocolate milk but she thought she was getting away with something!)

Loving that chocolate milk.

Dueling Starbucks.
We picked up some yummy lunch from the stores around the market including some really good mac and cheese from the cheese shop and some Russian pirogues.

Lunch at the park

They were so good she was using two hands!
After lunch we headed over to the Space Needle.  This was the first time going up the Space Needle for us and we picked the absolute perfect day to do it.  The crowds were small, the wind was still and the visibility was amazing.  You could see for miles around at the top of the needle, including a great view of Mount Rainier.

Unfortunately, we had to book it home after the Space Needle because the boys were getting out of school otherwise we would have toured around a bit more.  There was the Chihully glass garden and the music museum which looked really interesting.  Who's up for a visit so we have an excuse to go???

I like this one - the reflection of the Space Needle on the side of the music museum.

Just an artsy photo - I wanted to take more, but we had to leave!
