Our Thanksgiving started early as most of us (except Hannah, Hailey and Steve) got up to go run/walk the Gig Harbor Turkey Trot. My family has never participated in any 5K races before, but I know that my sister and her family usually do so I found them a race to run. Of course, I felt guilty about not doing it so I signed Cannon and I up, then London decided to go and at the last minute Emmy decided to also. What a fun way to start your Thanksgiving! I did feel a little slow, however, when the first 5K runners were returning before we had rounded the first turn. To make myself feel better, I told myself it's because I was walking the pace of a 6 year old... And it turns out that the kids and I took as long to walk a 5K as Nicole took to run a 10K! I'll try harder next year.

Stretching with Aunt Nicole after the race |
While the turkey was cooking, the adults snuck out for a walk in the woods together.
We did had a lovely Thanksgiving together with Nicole and her family, hanging out, eating lots and watching football. Poor Hailey, though, had a stomach bug and spent all day in bed. :(
