Field Day

Thursday was the elementary school's field day and boy, was it a fun time for all, well except for me and the other ladies on the "parachute"!  Yes, I volunteered to help at field day and got put on the parachute - so basically for 3 hours three other moms and I walked around in a circle wrapping up kids in the parachute and then spinning them loose.  The kids loved it!  We, however, formed a great sympathy for the ponies at carnivals...

The crowning glory of Voyager's field day is the tug-of-war and "peel the snake" competition.  I've never heard of peel the snake before, but apparently they've been practicing this event at school in preparation.  The way it works is the kids in a class line up and then lay down one in front of the other in a big line, when the last kid gets to the end, they get up and run back along the line straddling the others lying down, then the next kid gets up, etc.  The classes were so competitive and had so much fun!
