St. Louis - Day 1

Somehow we have let nine years go past since the last time we got together with Steve's brother, Brian, and his family.  I think of all the things that happened in those nine years and can't believe we didn't find some time to get together.  For us: a move to Virginia, residency, Emmy's birth, a move to Okinawa, a move to Washington.  And for Brian and Kimberly, a move to western MO, a change of job, a move back to St. Charles, police academy and 3 babies born!

But finally, finally, we were able to get at least part of the families together over February break.  Unfortunately, Cannon and Stevie did not join the fun since they went on a missions trip to Mexico (see separate post).

So with much anticipation by "the cousins" on both sides, Emmy, London and I flew into St. Louis on February 16th.  The car ride from the airport was a little quiet, but that was the last silence I heard in the five days we were together!  Once we got to their house, all the cousins were off and running!  Literally, running.  Around and around the house instantly playing games and laughing and having fun.  Kimberly had planned some "ice breaker" games but they weren't necessary - the invisible bonds of family just pulled them together.

The first night we exchanged some gifts - London's bag included some fake mustaches they had fun with.

Silly Emmy

Zachariah

These two were best buds.

We got the kids to settle down for dinner and a slice of Megan's cake.
