Thursday

I've eaten plenty of fine dining around the world, but I must admit that I have a particular weakness for Cracker Barrel. And since we didn't have Cracker Barrel in Japan and we don't have it in Washington, one of the places on my to-do list while in Hilton Head was to go for breakfast there!  Hey, my kids were right there with me on my desire for some cheap, southern eats!

Cannon, who had already been during his first week in South Carolina, enjoyed a second visit.  This time he ordered not one, but two plates of biscuits, gravy and bacon!  That's my teenage boy for you!

We had so much food come to our table, and at the end only one lowly bowl of grits was left.  I think we stocked up for another few years!

After breakfast, we had to stop by the Nissan dealer to get a tire fixed.  The kids enjoyed dreaming of their future wheels.

Emmy and I have the same tastes.
Working our way back home, we stopped at the Bluffton farmer's market.  Unfortunately, it was still setting up so we couldn't enjoy the full thing, but we were able to pick up some okra, peaches and green tomatoes.  I think a fully southern dinner is on the horizon...

One last funny pic from the day.  Emmy and London are so active here that they fall immediately to sleep.  Look how I found them when I went to bed.
